Louise Haselton is an artist living in Tandanya, Adelaide, Australia.
She makes sculptural works using materials gleaned from the world around her. In 2002 Haselton completed a Masters of Visual Arts by research at RMIT University, Melbourne. In 2005 Haselton undertook a residency at Sanskriti Kendra, Delhi, India, and in 2017 completed a 3 month artist residency at Phasmid Studio, Berlin. Haselton has held solo exhibitions, in 2011 at The Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia, in 2013 and 2024 at Greenaway Art Gallery and in 2014 at The Australian Experimental Art Foundation. In 2015 Haselton participated in do it adelaide, at The Anne and Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, when she enacted instructions by Alison Knowles and was included in the 2016 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Magic Object at the Art Gallery of South Australia. In 2019 Haselton’s work was the subject of the Wakefield Press/SALA artist monograph, titled Act Natural, the publication included essays by Gillian Brown, Leigh Robb and Jenna McKenzie. The monograph was accompanied by a major solo exhibition titled like cures like, at The Samstag Museum of Art, Adelaide.
Between 2003-2020 she was a lecturer in The Bachelor of Visual Art, School of Art, Architecture and Design, University of South Australia.
